Renyu Liu graduated from Xuzhou Medical University, and is now an attending anesthesiologist at the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the University of Pennsylvania. He is the Director of Preoperative Medicine and Co-Director of the Penn–China Anesthesia Partnership Program. Dr. Liu has clinical experience in China, Japan and the US. He is the vice president of the International Chinese Academy of Anesthesiology (www.icaahq.org). Dr. Liu’s major research interests include opioid pharmacology and preoperative medicine with funding support from various resources including NIH R01. Dr. Liu was appointed to be the Executive Counselor (overseas) for the Chinese Society of Anesthesiology (CSA) from 2011. He is the current Editor in Chief of the Translational Perioperative and Pain Medicine (Transpopmed, www.transpopmed.org ). He is recently promoted to be an Associate Professor in his institution. He is also the current interim Secretary General of the International Coalition of Translational Medicine (ICTM).
